Do we need the "failover lan enable" command on the primary and secondary devices while configuring Active/Standby failover on ASA ?

Because I do my labs on PIX and found out that the failover doesnt begin without this command.Any comments ???????

No, to activate the failover pair on an ASA pair(after you've done the rest of your config), you simply need to type the "failover" command.

Failover lan enable is a pix thing, because you can also do the non-lan (serial cable) version of the config.
